STEM IN THE LIFE- SKOPJE, FEBRUARY 2022

The first meeting between the students from the partner schools in the STEM IN THE LIFE project took place after a year of stand-by, in Skopje, Northern Macedonia, between 06-12.02.2022.
Together with partners from the countries enrolled in the project – Northern Macedonia (host country), Spain – IES Valdemoro, Spain – IES La Arboleda, Turkey – Karaman Licesi, our students spent a memorable week, learning, designing digital posters, relaxing , gaining experience in Erasmus + projects.
The first day of activities included a visit to the Zef Luch Marku School, the meeting of the STEM teachers team, the management team, the presentation of the students in teams. Our students : Bianca Ghergulescu (7th grade), Călin Victor Matei (8th grade), Popescu Natalia (10th grade), Voicu Maria (11th grade) and Stanciu Gabriel (1st grade) XII-a), proposed to their colleagues from the 4 participating countries, a game of anagrams using from STEM words. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the Polish team could not participate in person. Looking forward to meeting them very soon!
On the afternoon of the first day, we were accompanied by Macedonian volunteering students in the capital city, where we visited the Old Bazaar, and the Kale Fortress.
The second day of the week involved a continuation of the workshops of the students, who this time started working in the Microsoft Publisher program, in mixed teams, a digital poster in the project, with specific integrative elements. The second part of the day was followed by a visit to the Museum of Mother Teresa in Skopje, and one to the Museum of Natural History of the Republic of Macedonia.
On the 3rd day, an integrative cultural visit took place to the Popova Shapka Ski Resort, located outside the city, and to the monumental mosques in the region (Painted Mosque and Arabati Baba Tekke).
On the 4th day of the visit, the students continued to work in teams to create the final product. The posters were exhibited and prepared for voting, which was conducted transparently, and had precise criteria. The last day of the week was dedicated to the evaluation of the week, the work of the students, but also the award ceremony.
After the hard work, there came the time to relax- friendly basketball and volleyball matches took place between the teams from the participating countries. This activity enjoyed the unanimous appreciation of the students, but also of the teachers who agreed to play in the beautiful gym of the Zef Lush Marku high school.
In the second part of the day, we walked through the old town, admired the central part of it, took farewells to the hosts and enthusiastic Macedonian volunteer students, at an evening party at the hotel.
In the coming weeks, mini-working groups will be set up and selected so that all workshops and learning activities can be carried out as planned.
Good teamwork practices will be made visible on the project website and media pages.

https://youtu.be/MoOW13XCVns		Întâlnirea primă între elevii din școlile partenere în  proiectul STEM IN THE LIFE, s-a desfășurat după un an de stand-by, în localitatea Skopje, Macedonia de Nord, între  06-12.02.2022
Împreună cu parteneri din țările înscrise în proiect – Macedonia de Nord (țara gazdă),  Spania – IES Valdemoro, Spania-  IES La Arboleda , Turcia- Karaman Licesi, elevii spiristi au petrecut o săptămână memorabila, învățând, proiectând afișe digitale, relaxând-se, câștigând experiență in proiecte Erasmus+.
Prima zi de activități a cuprins o vizitare a școlii Zef Luch Marku, întâlnirea echipei de profesori STEM, a echipei manageriale, prezentarea pe echipe a elevilor. Elevii noștri aflați în mobilitate: Bianca Ghergulescu ( clasa a VII-a), Călin Victor Matei ( clasa a VIII-a), Popescu Natalia ( clasa a X-a), Voicu Maria ( clasa a XI-a) si Stanciu Gabriel (clasa a XII-a), le-au propus colegilor din cele 4 țări participante, un joc de anagrame pornind de la cuvinte STEM. Din păcate, din cauza pandemiei, echipa din Polonia nu a putut participa fizic. În după amiaza primei zile, am fost însoțiți de elevi voluntari în orașul capitală, unde am vizitat Old Bazaar, și Cetatea Kale.
Cea de-a doua zi a săptămânii a presupus o continuare a atelierelor elevilor, care de această dată au început să lucreze în programul Microsoft Publisher, în echipe mixte, un afiș digital în proiect, cu elemente integrative specifice. În partea a doua a zilei, a urmat o vizită la Muzeul Maicii Tereza din Skopje, și una la Muzeul de Istorie Naturală a Republicii Macedonia.
În ziua a 3-a, a avut loc o vizită culturală integrativă la Stațiunea de schi Popova Shapka, aflată în afara orașului, și la Moscheile  monument din regiune (Painted Mosque si Arabati Baba Tekke)
În ziua a 4-a a vizitei, elevii au continuat colaborarea pe echipe pentru crearea produsului final. Lucrările au fost expuse și pregătite pentru votare. Aceasta s-a desfășurat transparent, a avut criterii precise. Ultima zi a săptămânii a fost consacrată evaluării săptămânii, a muncii elevilor, dar și festivității de premiere.
După săptămâna de muncă, a sosit și timpul relaxării- s-au desfășurat meciuri amicale de baschet și volei, între echipele din țările participante. Această activitate s-a bucurat de aprecierea unanimă a elevilor, dar și a profesorilor care au acceptat să joace în frumoasa sală de sport a liceului Zef Lush Marku.
În partea a doua a zilei, ne-am plimbat prin orașul vechi, am admirat partea centrală a lui, ne-am luat rămas bun de la gazde și entuziaștii elevi voluntari macedoneni, la o petrecere de seară realizată la hotelul unde eram cazați.
În săptămânile care urmează, vor fi create și selecționate mini-grupurile de lucru, astfel încât toate atelierele și activitățile de învățare să se desfășoare conform planificării. Bunele practici privind lucrurile în echipă vor fi făcute vizibile pe site-ul proiectului și paginile media.

Sunt profesor de limba engleza de 25 de ani, de gimnaziu si de liceu. Îmi place foarte mult ceea ce fac, iar utilizarea tehnologiei si a aplicațiilor in predare e un hobby dobândit după o formare in Anglia, in 2013. Îmi plac limbile străine, vorbesc franceza, putina rusa, putina spaniola, iar in timpul liber îmi place sa citesc. Am făcut parte din antrenorii echipei de robotica a liceului, iar aceasta pasiune m-a condus iată in minunatul proiect Erasmus- STEM in the Life. Alături de niște colegii coordonatori din Spania, Turcia, Polonia si Macedonia de Nord, vrem sa ii facem pe elevii noștri sa iubească materiile STEM si sa le înțeleagă rostul si importanta in lumea care se construiește azi. Stem in Life, STEM is life!
